At 321 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Montpelier to 7 miles northwest of Albany. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Greensburg, Amite, Amite City, Kentwood, Independence, Roseland, Montpelier, Easleyville, Wilmer, and Tangipahoa. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 12 near mile marker 28. Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 39 and 63. |

Mississippi River At Natchez affecting Wilkinson, Concordia and Adams Counties. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Natchez. * WHEN...Until Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 38 feet, Lowlands along the river in areas not protected by levees begin to flood. On both side of the river, there are areas that contain oil and gas wells; however, these are not affected until higher stages. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 41.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 26.7 feet Wednesday, August 05. - Action stage is 38 feet. - Flood stage is 48 feet. |
