* WHERE...Portions of east central, northeast, south central, and
southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in east
central Kentucky, Bath, Elliott, Estill, Fleming, Menifee,
Montgomery, Powell and Rowan. In northeast Kentucky, Johnson and
Martin. In south central Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski,
Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Bell,
Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie,
Letcher, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Wolfe.

* WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms producing
locally heavy rainfall are expected from this afternoon into
the weekend. Already wet soils in some areas will make those
locations more susceptible to flooding. Localized significant
flooding may develop for areas that see several inches of
rainfall.

rain are expected late week through the weekend. Already wet
soils in some areas will make flooding more susceptible,
especially with each additional round of rainfall. Localized

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Repeat rounds of thunderstorms over the next several days will
increase the threat for flooding. While 1 to 2 inches is forecast
on average, the flooding threat is more from any storms that
might sit or repeat over the same areas...where 2 to 3 times that
average amount may be enhanced locally, leading to flood issues.

- Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected today through
Saturday night across the region. Locally heavy rainfall is
expected at times, with the potential for instances of flash
flooding given recent rainfall, especially in locations that have
compromised soils. Flooding potential will be greatest on Friday
and Saturday when showers and thunderstorms will be numerous.
